Lockwood Boat Works started back in January of 1946 when Bill Lockwood Sr. built and sold simple row boats. This soon expanded and Lockwood sold not only rowboats, but runabouts, cruisers, motors and trailers. In 1954, Lockwood purchased a piece of property on the Cheesequake Creek for a new marina with 13 slips. The need for further expansion led to the purchase of an additional 24 acres. This has since been transformed into the marina that exists today.
The Lockwood family still owns and operates all aspects of the business. The personalized service provided by each member of our family is what makes this yard so special. We have all been in the marine business for all of our lives. Our knowledge comes from first-hand experience with sailboat racing and offshore fishing. This gives us a chance to test the products we sell.
